God's "Jeremiah 29:11" For Us

The Bible clearly teaches that God has a specific plan for us.

Not just for a selected few. And not just some random, general plan. A specific plan, for every person He creates:

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Our Creator detailed our lives - according to His will - with a specific plan filled with eternal hope.
Although it might be easy to agree with that, many people struggle to understand God's plan for them. They float around life - wondering if they will ever be lucky enough to experience the hope-filled future He promises.

Life can easily become a aimless labor for fulfillment. A quick choice to settle for second best.

But it doesn't have to be. And it shouldn't be:

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
We are called to pray and seek Him wholeheartedly. And when we do, we will find Him. Understanding God's plan is a natural outflow of spending time with God. As we grow closer to Him, we grow in our understanding of His will.

But I believe verse 11 and 12 carry even greater value than that.

Seeking God is not merely a way to learn God's plan for us. Seeking Him is His plan for us. It's what we were created for - to glorify the Name of the Lord. Nothing gives God greater joy than to spend time with the children He died for. And nothing else satisfies the yearning of our souls.

Understanding God's "Jeremiah 29:11" for us is important. But the time we spend with God is far more valuable than the answers we seek.
